What is an MCP server?
An MCP server is a connector that lets an AI assistant (like Claude or ChatGPT) work securely in your accounting software.
What does the ReInvestWealth MCP server do?
It allows the assistant to make adjustments, fix transactions, send invoices, run reports, and perform other actions directly within your books. Across one business or multiple at the same time.
Is MCP reliable and secure?
Yes. It is an open standard, and the ReInvestWealth MCP server is tested and supported in both Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT (OpenAI). Any other MCP-capable assistant, including Codex, can connect to it as well.
How do I add the MCP server to Claude or ChatGPT?
From your assistant's connector or MCP settings: point it at the ReInvestWealth MCP server and sign in with the account you already have. No install, no API keys.
Can my firm use it across client files?
Yes, and it is the part we are most excited about. One instruction, every client file, at the same time. A cleanup that takes a junior a week runs in parallel across the whole book instead of one file after another.
The AI can change my books. What stops it going wrong?
It only reaches what you reach, it asks before it changes anything, and every change is an ordinary entry you can see and edit in the app. Nothing is hidden.
Is it available now?

How is this different from a QuickBooks or Xero MCP server?
QuickBooks and Xero now offer official connectors for Claude, and QuickBooks has one for ChatGPT. Each connects one company file at a time, QuickBooks is US-only, and Xero's is read-only. Ours offers full read and write capabilities, uses your existing permissions, and answers questions across all your ReInvestWealth profiles at the same time.
Do I need Claude Code, Cowork, or Codex?
None in particular. It is an MCP server, so it attaches to the account you already use rather than one specific app. Claude and ChatGPT are the two we test against.
Do I need a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan?
You need a Claude or ChatGPT account, and connecting a custom MCP server depends on your plan there (Anthropic's and OpenAI's call, not ours). Check connector support on your plan with them.
