The plain-English version

What is an MCP server?

Software that lets an AI assistant work inside a system holding real data.

What is a Claude connector?

How you add an MCP server to Claude: connect once from your own account, and Claude can work with it while you chat. No code, no exports. Codex adds the same server from its own settings.

What does the ReInvestWealth MCP server do?

It lets your assistant work in your books, not just look at them: adjustments, migrations, edits, reports, projections, even the update email that goes out with them. Across one business or multiple businesses at the same time.

Is MCP only for Claude?

No, it is an open standard. Ours is tested and supported in Claude and in Codex, and any other assistant that speaks MCP can connect to it too.

How it will work

How to connect your books to Claude or Codex

In the assistant you already work in, with the account you already have.

Tested and supported in

  • The ReInvestWealth MCP server is tested and supported in Claude by AnthropicClaude by Anthropic
  • The ReInvestWealth MCP server is tested and supported in Codex by OpenAICodex by OpenAI
  1. Connect it to your assistant

One connection, from your own Claude or Codex account. Nothing to install.

  2. Ask, or tell it to go do it

It answers from the real ledger, or makes the change you asked for.

  3. You approve what it does

It inherits your permissions, and asks before it changes anything.

The app stays simple. The heavy lifting lives in the MCP.

What you can ask it to do

Built for both sides of the ledger

Adjustments, migrations, reports, projections, the email that goes with them. Your assistant does the work instead of handing you a to-do list.

If you run an accounting firm

  • Close out December across all 30 files and flag anything needing my judgment.
  • Which clients are trending toward a loss? Draft a heads-up email for each.
  • Post these year-end adjusting entries and tie out the balance sheet.
  • Match the transfers between their bank accounts and flag any one-sided ones.
  • Start the GST/HST filing process for all my clients.
  • Find every transaction over $10k and tell me which need support.

If you run your own business

  • Backfill last year from these bank statements so my books are complete.
  • Get my books ready for my accountant and email them the package.
  • Review last month and fix what's wrong, with my okay first.
  • Which subscriptions am I still paying for that I don't use?
  • How much can I afford to pay myself this quarter?
  • Prepare my GST/HST return, show me what I owe, and e-file it.

FAQ

Questions about the MCP server

How do I add the MCP server to Claude or Codex?

From your assistant's connector or MCP settings: point it at the ReInvestWealth MCP server and sign in with the account you already have. No install, no API keys. The exact steps for both ship with the launch email.

Can my firm use it across client files?

Yes, and it is the part we are most excited about. One instruction, every client file, at the same time. A cleanup that takes a junior a week runs in parallel across the whole book instead of one file after another. Firms go into early access first.

The AI can change my books. What stops it going wrong?

It only reaches what you reach, it asks before it changes anything, and every change is an ordinary entry you can see and edit in the app. Nothing is hidden.

When does it launch?

Soon. We are shipping it to small groups first, watching what people actually ask it, and fixing what breaks before the next group.

How is this different from a QuickBooks or Xero MCP server?

Theirs are open-source servers for developers: you run one, register an app, handle OAuth, one company file at a time. Ours is part of the platform, inherits your permissions, and works across every client file a firm can already see.

Do I need Claude Code, Cowork, or Codex?

None in particular. It is an MCP server, so it attaches to the account you already use rather than one specific app. Claude and Codex are the two we test against.

Do I need a paid Claude or Codex plan?

You need a Claude or Codex account, and connecting a custom MCP server depends on your plan there (Anthropic's and OpenAI's call, not ours). The launch email spells out exactly what is required.

Get your books ready for it.

The MCP server is only as good as the books behind it. Start free, let the AI keep them current, and be ready the day early access opens.

Cancel anytime. Firms: ask about MCP early access on the call.
